Alabama Supercomputer Center
The Alabama Supercomputer Center is in the Cummings Research Park in Huntsville, Alabama. The facility spans nearly 24,000 square feet and serves as the hub of ASA Operations. The facility includes the Security Operations Center (SOC), the Network Operations Center (NOC), the Data Recovery Center, the Data Center, and Operations Offices.
In 1987, the City of Huntsville donated the land for the Supercomputer Center in Research Park. The building was completed in October 1987, and the first supercomputer, the CRAY X-MP, was installed. In October 2023, the tenth supercomputer, ASA-X, was installed. ASA continually makes improvements to maintain its state-of-the-art supercomputer center.
